The Seventh Annual Red Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 26 at 5:30 pm at Immaculate Conception Church.    Everyone, but especially those involved in the legal community is invited to attend.  The Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, the Bishop of Knoxville, will preside at the Mass which asks for the blessings of the Holy Spirit on behalf of the legal community.  A reception follows in the parish hall.  The Mass is a reminder that our legal system has roots stretching back many centuries and that all of us are part of that tradition.  The Red Mass which originated centuries ago when it marked the annual opening of the Roman Rota, continues to open the Roman Rota as well as the judicial year in many jurisdictions around the world
