On September 15-16 St. John Neumann will join with parishes throughout the diocese and the country to celebrate Catechetical Sunday. Catechesis aims "to put people not only in touch but in communion . . . with Jesus Christ." National Directory for Catechesis. The theme this year is Catechesis: Encountering the Living Christ. During the 9:30 and 11:00 am Masses that weekend, parish catechists will be commissioned and blessed for this coming year. We will also recognize the role parents and guardians play in handing on the faith. How do we encounter Christ in our daily lives? How do the Sunday Mass scripture readings help me encounter Christ throughout the week?
