The Catholic Public Policy Commission (CPPC) is hosting its annual Catholic Day on the Hill in Nashville on Wednesday, April 9.  It would be wonderful if priests, parishioners, principals, students and staff members alike are able to support this important event that helps to share with Tennessee's Elected Officials the Catholic perspective and positions on a variety of legislative issues.  This is a tremendous opportunity for us to make known our Catholic values and do what we can to influence the world we live in through the legislative process.

The Catholic Public Policy Commission was formed in 1983 and consists of clergy and lay members from across the State of Tennessee.  It serves as a forum for the three Tennessee Dioceses to coordinate unified communication about Catholic concerns with regards to public policy.  The theme for Catholic Day on the Hill this year is "Human Solidarity:  We are all the body of Christ, what affects one, effects all."  How wonderful it would be if each parish, school, agency and organization within the Diocese of Knoxville has a representative or group of representatives present in Nashville for Catholic Day on the Hill to advocate on and learn more about the legislative issues facing Tennesseans.

Your assistance in promoting this day of prayer and advocacy is most appreciated.  If you have any questions, please contact the Catholic Day on the Hill coordinator, Kathleen Murphy (tncppc@bellsouth.net or 615-354-6521) or visit the CPPC website (http://www.tncppc.org/) for additional information and registration forms.
