St. Vincent de Paul Food Drive for Ladies of Charity

food-driveWe are holding our semi-annual food drive to support the Ladies of Charity Food Pantry. We will be collecting for our food drive after all Masses on the weekends of March 12/13 through March 19/20. Cash and food cards are gratefully accepted! Thank you for your generosity.

Grocery bags will be handed out March 5/6. Please see the list of items requested by the Ladies of Charity or a St. Vincent de Paul Society member if you need a copy of the list.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society holds meetings on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10:00 am in the school library. Anyone who is interested in learning about our group and our ministry to the poor and those in need are invited to attend. Currently our activities include nursing home visitations, food drives for Ladies of Charity, prayer blankets for those in the hospital or suffering serious illnesses (can be requested by calling the SVdP Society at 865-333-0878), parishioner assistance and support, as well as ministry to the poor.

Support Ladies of Charity as a Guild Member

The women of St. John Neumann parish are invited to join the guild that assists the Ladies of Charity. We help organize food donated for the Emergency Food Pantry and also help organize merchandise for the Thrift Shop.  The Food Pantry/Thrift Shop is located next door to Holy Ghost Church, which is 20 minutes from St. John Neumann Church; so we encourage carpooling.

Shifts for the Food Pantry packers are 9:30 – 11:30 am and 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Monday through Friday. Shifts for sorting merchandise are 9:30 am – 1:00 pm and 1:00 – 4:30 pm. As a guild working together we combine our efforts around these shifts making our travel time fun and our working time fruitful.

Please contact Phyllis Cada at 966-8862 for more information.
