Dear SJN Families and Friends
I’m writing this on Tuesday afternoon and it has been raining all day. I love a good rainy day – I always have. When we had our horse farm I treasured the sound of the rain on the tin roof of the barn while catching a nap on the hay bales. While the world seems crazy and dangerous at times there is still so much to be thankful for. We live in a beautiful corner of creation and God’s grace is bountiful each and every day – though we may not always be aware of it. Some of the graces for which we can be most thankful are when some knot in our life is untied [I have a devotion to Our Lady Undoer of Knots]. These knots, as they become undone by grace, by Our Mother’s intercession, by the sacraments, by persistence, are opportunities to give thanks to God and to see with gratitude that God can work not just in spite of our weaknesses but also through them.
This Thanksgiving I again give thanks to God for y’all, for grace, for the knots that have been untied, and for the ones that are being untied, for the sunshine and for the rain… and even for the snow if it comes along this year. God bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving!
Your brother in Christ,
Fr. Joe
