I woke this morning to a fairly heavy frost on the ground – and as first hints of winter weather almost always do for me – it warmed my heart. Even the vaguest hint of a white Christmas kindles in me feelings of comfort and joy. What irony – that a chill can warm the heart. But an even greater irony lies at the heart of Christmas – Our Almighty God comes to save us and he chooses to do so by coming into the world as a child.

I pray that the comfort and joy that only Christ can give fills each of your hearts and homes this season and that 2024 is an extraordinary year of grace for you and yours. Merry Christmas, y’all, and Happy New Year!
